In 2016, Hochland wanted to launch a limited edition BBQ Toast it to boost sales. Two slices of sandwich bread filled with tasty, melted cheese – easily prepared in a conventional toaster. Therefore we designed The Jumping Sandwich – a packaging that is designed like a toaster. When the consumer opens it, the sandwiches pop out like toasted slices. The technology is very simple – a spring mechanism was constructed by folding heavy-duty paper into a stage and connecting it with two ordinary rubber bands, transforming conventional packaging into a playful experience.
