75% of the inmates in german prisons are arrested because they violated narcotics regulations or are in custody pending deportation. The police statistics record a strong decline of crime since years. For example, the number of murders and homicides decreased by 10.1% from 1999 to 2009. Such information is largely beyond the perception of the population. This is flawed and has far-reaching consequences.
With my diploma I reproach mass media, population, politicians and justice for their careless handling with crime. I show the major problems of imprisonment and point out deficits of the communication outside and within prison walls.
